The
first place in the rank of sightseeing Martin gave to the Iolani Palace – a miracle of Oahu. A long ago there lived
Hawaiian kings and queens. It was their world. The furniture of ancient
and modern styles is represented here in its pomp. No one could pass
by the patterns of the art. Martin’s vacation was promising to
be challenging. The world was unique and unusual.
The Arizona Memorial and Perl Harbor are visited my hundreds of tourists.
During the war of 1941 a large ship “Arizona” was drawn in
the Pacific Ocean. Three hundred sailors were died. The Memorial consists
of the concrete construction with transparent bottom. And people have a
chance to watch the ship through the bottom of the construction. There
were lots of people spending their vacation here.
Martin visited the Polynesian Center surely. The friends spent all day
long getting acquainted with the traditions and culture of Hawaiian Islands.
It is worth seeing of course. They knew the other part of Polynesia, by
the way. The new world of Haiti, Samoa, New Zealand and others were open
to tourists’ eyes. Each region has got its own pavilion that shows
various entertainments the other hour. Martin and Alex took part in dancing
and singing songs providing national style and color. They even made decorations
by their own – it was fun! The vacation was really terrific. Martin
is fond of fishing therefore the friends had to see the Waikiki Aquarium,
which is situated on the seaside. Here Martin was surprised by seeing the
real coral reef. It is hard to describe this phenomena but it is rather
huge. Of course there is a world collection of tropical fish – about
2500 inhabitants of the ocean. The friends were lucky to watch the exhibition
of fish and other flora and fauna of the ocean. The underwater world was
beautiful – it’s beyond words.
The Bishop Museum represents the Hawaiian ancient and modern art. Originally
it was a museum of a royal family and step by step it turned into the exhibition
of the whole region of Hawaiian antiquity. It is worth seeing during the
vacation.
The Aloha Tower impressed Martin most of all. It was the highest peak in
the Hawaiian Islands until the market place was formed near it. This place
s considered as the most beautiful in Hawaii. The Valley of the Temples
occupies the place among the high cliffs where Martin and Alex could have
a tea in Japanese house. And you don’t believe! They saw Byodo-in
Temple with their own eyes.
Thanks to Alex they took their swimming suits and swam in the Hanauma Bay – the
main sightseeing on the seaside. The most marvelous coral reef is lying
here – it divides the seaside into two parts. Martin had a great
opportunity to watch amazing fish of diverse colors. This Bay belongs to
the regional park Koko Head, which is famous for its terrific world of
tropical plants and flowers. The vacation was great!
